Hull used to have a Zoo and the Zoo keepers Yard is one of the few signs left of it. Andrew and Kim from Gomersal Partnership have brought it's history back to life now as Stone Masons working from the Zoo Keepers Yard. Zoological Gardens once stood across the street from the yard in what is now Peel Street Park.

Viridian Collective is a private Facebook Group for Women started by Nicola Hassall.

Blank Canvas has just opened in Princes Quay. It is for Performing Arts /Crafts and Technical skills. Making Creativity accessible to all because "All Great Art Starts with a Blank Canvas".

Our Z for Zoological Gardens Hull was made by both groups. We designed our mesh together. It was a very happy partnership. We used woven florist ribbon, cross stitched panels and crotched pieces to evolve our theme. Which was made at Blank Canvas most Tuesdays through the summer.

Our cross stitched panels were made at home by members of the Viridian group to show the animals and gardens and the main Z of the Design.

Please go view our mesh at the Zoo Keepers Yard and check out the other info that Andrew and Kim have researched and put up for the public to learn about Hulls Zoo.
