B is for the Bee Lady. The Jean Bishop banner. The Fred Moore Library Knit&Natter group of ladies have met every Thursday for many years at the Fred Moore library in Derringham. Three of our ladies began school together now in their 80's they enjoy sharing their life stories. The creative skills of the ladies include crocheting, knitting and embroidery. Their finished blankets and clothing are sent to local maternity units. The ladies also knit cardigans and jumpers for children in Africa and in the Ukraine.

An Alphabet for Hull gave our ladies the opportunity to be creative whilst celebrating Jean Bishop, the Bee Lady, also a Derringham resident. Our banner became a joyful garden of knitted and crochet delights, complete with bees, ladybirds, butterflies, flowers and vines.

The Knit&Natter ladies are Jackie, Christine, Sue, Freda, Jean, Margaret, Doreen, Val, Jane, Eileen, Julia, Barbara, Ann and Chrissy. We all would like to thank our wonderful librarians from the Fred Moore library for all their help and support during this project.
